Guest Guidelines & Theatre Policies

Welcome to the historic Rio Grande Theatre! To provide a secure, comfortable, and memorable experience for everyone, we ask that you review our facility rules before attending an event.

Entry Procedures

To ensure a safe environment, all guests and their belongings are subject to a security screening upon arrival.

  • Security Screenings: Consenting to a search of your bags, clothing, or other items is a requirement for entering the facility.

  • Compliance: Guests who decline the security screening process will not be permitted inside the theatre.

  • Arrival Time: Doors will generally open at the time listed for your event, but please note that lobby opening times are subject to change. Early access is not permitted.

  • Ticketing: Every attendee must present a valid ticket at the door.

New Mexico Alcohol Regulations

To comply with the New Mexico Alcohol and Gaming Division, the following rules strictly apply to all events featuring alcohol service:

  • ID Check: You must present a valid, physical, government-issued photo ID to purchase or consume alcohol.

  • Legal Age: Only guests aged 21 and older may be served alcoholic beverages.

  • No Outside Drinks: Bringing your own alcohol into the theatre is strictly prohibited by state law.

  • Stay on Premises: Drinks purchased at our concessions must be consumed inside the theatre and cannot be taken outside the building.

  • Responsible Service: Our staff is required to refuse service to anyone showing signs of intoxication. Noticeably intoxicated individuals will be denied entry or asked to leave the premises without a refund.
