A KRWG Benefit Concert.

The El Paso Brass have been performing continually since their founding over forty years ago. This ensemble is composed of key members of the El Paso Symphony Orchestra and other distinguished artists from the Southwest. Their three CDs, Happy Holidays, Effervescent Brass, and Let It Snow! have proved very popular with both general audiences and music professionals. The group works regularly as a “traditional” brass quintet, plays concerts with a full rhythm section, and also performs as guest artists with symphony orchestras and wind ensembles.

With every member wearing the “dual hats” of musician and educator, the El Paso Brass have created performances that place an emphasis on education and entertainment. Having received invitations to tour Europe and present many programs at Community Concerts and all-state music conventions, El Paso Brass still feels that one of its most important contributions to music education is the “Brass in Class” series they present to grade school students throughout the Southwest.

El Paso Brass has performed for well over 300,000 students over the past few years. During that time, the education community has witnessed many positive developments including several accounts of autistic children responding verbally for the first time ever. In addition, music teachers report significantly increased participation numbers in elementary and middle school music programs as a response to EPB performances.
